This main content area should be used for excerpts and elucidation. Excerpts should be marked up as quotes (for search-engine and accessibility reasons) like so (ie, preceded with a right angle-bracket, which sets up the quote marks):

Image Placement
I've set up a few different default image styles that you can use in most places around the site. When you upload an image, you'll see that it has a small grey arrow in the bottom-left corner of its icon. Clicking this arrow brings up a number of options for size and placement of your image:
As you can see, inserting images places a little token describing the size and placement in your text. Large images should be placed on their own line, while small and gallery images should sit inside the paragraph you want them to display alongside.
